If you are staying with us for a wedding, special event, coroprate retreat, or just looking for that special romantic getaway, the Castle at Skylands Manor is quite extraordinary.
Located eight miles off 287, and nestled amongst the Ramapo Mountains, the Castle is located within 1000 acres of the New Jersey Botanical Gardens. Our 24 newly restored guest rooms echo the grandeur of the past while containing all the modern neccessities. The New Jersey Botanical Gardens forms the heartland of the property that Francis Lynde Stetson assembled from pioneer farmsteads in the Ramapo Mountains. Stetson named his country estate "Skylands Farms" and maintained a stylist mansion of native granite. He entertained such friends as President Grover Cleveland, Andrew Carnegie, Ethel Barryrmore and J.P. Morgan.
The main house was designed by John Russell Pope in the mid 1920's. Its 54 rooms contains antique paneling and 16th century stained glass. This Tudor showplace is in the popular style of Ecticism. Its vast interiors display late gothic to early renaissance styles. The New Jersey Botanical Gardens appears on both the State and National Registers of Historical Places and is a part of Ringwood State Park.

There is no end to the possibilites that the grounds have to offer. There are 14 private gardens and 5 seperate water gardens amongst miles of hiking and biking trails. Relax as you view and stroll amongst the etherial magnificence of the gardens. In season, Shepard Lake offers swimming, fishing and boating, and sun bathing on its sandy beach. You can also test your skills at the skeet shooting range. Take in the fine restaurants in the surrounding towns, or order in — our 24 hour concierge with spirits and snacks is always available. In the morning, wake up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a delectable breakfast.
- All rooms have plasma flat screen TV's with cable, clock radio, iron, coffee maker and The Castle at Skylands robes and slippers.
- Continental breakfast is served daily in the marble breakfast room or on the chateau overlooking the botanical gardens. 7:30 to 9:30 am.

Queen Antoinette’s Quarters
Prepare to be pampered in this spacious suite. Queen Antoinette’s Quarters includes an exclusive sleeping area with a king size bed and a private bath featuring marble finished walls. It also has a separate, large living room with hand carved wood paneling, and seating for ten.

Knight’s Luxury Suite
The Knight’s Luxury Suite includes a king size bed with a private bath. It also includes a private study and is located on the ground level. A beautiful floor-to-ceiling built-in armoire warms this spacious suite.

Gatsby Rooms
Our Gatsby rooms are sure to please. There are seven distinct rooms available and each features a king or queen size bed with a private bath. These spacious rooms with amenities of built-in armoires, hand-carved wood paneling, gold leaf moldings and marble fireplaces, offer our guests a unique staying experience at the Castle at Skylands Manor.

Chateau Rooms
Each of the six Chateau rooms includes a queen size bed with semi-private bath (entrance to bathroom is in the room but is shared with another overnight room). You can lock the bathroom door for privacy. These appointed rooms will enhance a wonderful evening’s stay at the Castle at Skylands Manor.

Imperial Rooms
Each or our three Imperial rooms include a queen size bed with semi-private bath (entrance to bathroom is directy outside the room but is shared with one other overnight room or private to your room). You can lock the bathroom door for privacy.

Renaissance Rooms
Located in a private area of the north Castle, each of our five Renaissance rooms include a full size bed. Semi-private ladies’ and men's bathrooms are across the hall and can be locked for privacy.
