The Frungillo Brothers
Robert Frungillo owns and directs Frungillo Caterers, one of New Jersey’s premier catering and hospitality companies specializing in weddings and all special events, fine dining, and overnight accommodations. Frungillo Caterers operates six distinctive venues and an off-premise catering division that is featured as a preferred or exclusive caterer to many landmark venues.
Frungillo Caterers and its dedicated staff members have won various catering, hospitality, and community service awards over the years. In 2009, Frungillo Caterers was featured on “Masters of Reception,” the national hit TV series on TLC produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. Frungillo Caterers is always changing with the times; the company motto is crisp and clear, “We need to be even better today, than we were yesterday.”
Robert attended Glassboro College and Montclair University but attributes his professional wisdom to his two older brothers, Alfred (Gourmet Dining Services) and Jerry (Robert’s partner at Frungillo Caterers). Life lessons of hospitality and hard work were handed down from Robert’s mentors; his late parents Al Sr. and Antoinette.
Robert’s love and commitment to his wife Lisa and three children (Robert Jr., Michelle, and Matthew) is without precedent. His favorite family bonding moments include beach getaways and coaching his children’s sport teams. Robert will tell you right away that he identifies as a family man and athlete first, and then as a caterer. He was an all-state baseball and football athlete and continues to play on adult teams, runs every day, and participates in various marathons, races and triathlons each year. He takes special pride in finishing the NYC Marathon and involving his children in competitive sports as soon as they were each able to walk.
Robert believes that sharing time with someone is the most precious gift and his zest for celebrating life is both palpable and inspiring. It is no surprise that he is in the business of bringing families and friends together to make dreams come true and memories that last a lifetime.
Jerry’s roles in Frungillo Caterers are management development and long term planning/architect. Spending much time focusing on training and building the interpersonal and leadership skills of the company’s management team, Jerry has developed a series of training seminars that are being put to use throughout the company.
Jerry takes the lead role of architect and long term planning by advising brother and partner Robert and comptroller John Fucci about properties and projects that would benefit the business, its employees and clients.
Currently Jerry and Robert are in the process of developing a 132 room hotel on the Mountain Lakes site.
Jerry resides in Morristown, New Jersey. Born in Newark, New Jersey and raised in Verona, he is a 1975 graduate of Verona High School and a 1979 graduate from William Paterson University where he received a BS in Business Administration. Jerry is also a 2005 Honorary Alumnus of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, NJ.
Jerry has two children, Alexis Ann who has her Masters degree from Boston College and teaches in Boston. Jerry II who is now at Boston University working on his Doctorate program in sports psychology.
